Nova Scotia Recycles Contest Prizes

Over $55,000 in cash and prizes is available to be won! This equates to approximately$7,100 in each of Nova Scotia’s seven waste management regions!

Winning and runner-up students in grades primary to eleven receive great prize packages which may include Mountain Equipment Coop backpacks, Empire Theatre movie passes, recycled pop bottle t-shirts, recycled cardboard pens, recycled plastic binders and more. Plus, the schools of winning students receive $500 cash and the schools of runners-up receive $250!

Scholarships are available in the grade 12 category. Winners in each region receive $1,500 while runners-up receive $750 scholarships. In addition, a $5,000 scholarship is awarded to the Grade 12 student with the best essay in the province.

The BEST prize is awarded to everyone—a chance to take action and learn the importance of keeping Nova Scotia clean by reducing, reusing, recycling and composting!
