Derelict Vehicle Recovery Program

RRFB Nova Scotia has allocated funds in the amount of $ 100,000 for the 2006-2007 fiscal year to assist in the recovery of derelict vehicles within the Province of Nova Scotia. RRFB Nova Scotia is prepared to participate in the recovery cost for these vehicles on a 50/50 cost shared basis after a written request and budget is received. To ensure that all municipalities within a region have an opportunity to access these funds, we will hold all requests for funding until February 28, 2007. Funds will then be allocated within each region based on the claims received prior to this date.

Proposals requesting assistance for removal of derelict vehicles will be handled on a case by case basis. It is important that inquiring municipalities or residents have clear title to the derelict vehicle before RRFB Nova Scotia can take action to assist in the removal process.
