Municipal Approved Programs (MAP) Funding, 2010-11 (REVISED)

The Municipal Approved Funding Program is designed to enable RRFB Nova Scotia to financially assist the efforts of municipal governments and waste-resource management regions continued advancement towards waste reduction and diversion as part of the Nova Scotia Solid Waste-Resource Management Strategy. MAP Innovation Applications (NEW)

RRFB has created the new innovation component of MAP to support the solid-waste reduction and diversion efforts of Municipalities in researching and developing new processes, methods, markets and equipment to increase solid-waste reduction and diversion in Nova Scotia. MAP Innovation Applications are open to all municipalities and solid-waste management regions. For more information, please download the MAP Innovation Guidelines PDF. Notice: The first round of applications under the MAP Innovation program did not fully utilize the program budget. Therefore, there will be a second intake of applications accepted no later than 4:30 pm, September 15, 2010. Applications may be submitted electronically by e-mail to info@rrfb.com or hard copies can be delivered to RRFB’s office in Truro. Please refer to the program guidelines for details on how to apply.

Regional Enforcement Funding Program (NEW)

RRFB Nova Scotia created a new program to provide additional funding over three-years to support increased enforcement efforts at the municipal level. This funding supports incremental activities, costs and planning that enable municipalities to increase the enforcement of provincial and municipal waste management regulations within their respective regions.

Other Funding Opportunities

RRFB Nova Scotia assists businesses, associations and not-for-profit organizations through a variety of Business Development Programs that divert waste materials from the landfill. The Business Development Programs also fund innovative research and development initiatives.
