The Resource Recovery Fund Board (RRFB) is a non-profit corporation pursuing the mandates set out in the Environment Act and the Solid Waste Resource Management Act of improving Nova Scotia’s environment, economy, and quality of life by reducing, reusing, recycling and recovering resources. Recognized globally as an innovator in waste diversion solutions, RRFB funds municipal waste diversion programs and oversees a network of 83 independently owned ENVIRO-DEPOT™ locations throughout Nova Scotia. RRFB also delivers education and awareness programs, partners with industry to develop and implement stewardship agreements, and promotes innovation in the development of value-added manufacturing.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, as the Chief Executive Officer you will oversee RRFB's $50 million in business activities and provide strategic leadership to the organization. Promote the development of new technologies supporting solid waste diversion through research and development activities. Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and partners in the public and private sectors. Lead and mentor a motivated team. Educate, inform and engage Nova Scotians in the issues of waste reduction and continue to raise the profile of RRFB Nova Scotia on a local, provincial and national stage.
As the next CEO, you bring significant business acumen as well as public sector experience, leadership capability and skills in working in a multi-stakeholder environment. You are adept at understanding a complex problem and developing a plan of action. You build relationships easily, seek win-win solutions and are a skilled negotiator. You are able to move easily from strategic visioning to hands-on operational management. You bring out the best in others and have proven your ability to run a successful business operation.
