Kenneth D'Entremont, a Lower West Pubnico entrepreneur, decided to tackle the issue of bait boxes. These boxes hold the frozen fish used to bait lobster traps, and large quantities of them are littered at sea. It's a marine waste problem, as well as a land disposal problem, since many of them end up on our shores and beaches.

Kenneth came up with a new system that allowed him to pre-prepare the bait on land. The fishers liked this because it meant they didn't have to take the bait boxes to sea. What started as a way to attract new customers turned into a service that can ensure that zero garbage goes out to sea.

For his great example and good research, Kenneth D'Entrement was honoured with a Mobius Award for Individual Excellence in Waste Reduction. Rene Belliveau of Waste Check accepted the trophy on behalf of Kenneth.
