The Cape Forchu Community Clean Up Project, in Yarmouth, shows how a few dedicated people can make a huge difference in cleaning up a community. Gertrude Sweeney is at the very heart of this community clean-up project, which has resulted in the clean up of Cape Forchu's highway, beach and waterfront. Gertrude Sweeney accepted the Honourable Mention plaque for Best Community-Based Project on behalf of the Cape Fourchu Community Clean-up Project.
