Canada Revenue Agency is located in the Ralston Building in downtown Halifax. Public Works and Government Services Canada is mandated to “green” federal government operations in all government facilities including the Ralston Building.

In partnership with Public Works and Government Services Canada, Canada Revenue Agency has put in place waste-resource management initiatives that reflect intensive research, appropriate investment, innovative waste management practices, and staff dedication. Canada Revenue Agency’s commitment to implementing a green office strategy has resulted in a dramatic increase in recycling and composting. By making it convenient and easy to recycle and compost, a phenomenal waste diversion rate of 84.3% has been reached. The Ralston Building is a model for sustainable waste management, conservation and green procurement. For its efforts, Canada Revenue Agency, in partnership with Public Works and Government Services was awarded the Mobius Environmental Award for Institution of the Year.
