Subway Bottle Exchange has been part of the Truro landscape for over 50 years. Originally a scrap metal and beer bottle dealer, Subway expanded to become an Enviro-Depot in 1996. Subway serves the Truro area usually serving between 175-300 customers per day. Customers often remark that service at Subway is always excellent. Staff always greet customers with a smile and are eager to help by providing customers with educational material and details about new recycling programs. Subway Bottle Exchange is a model for Enviro-Depots around the province. Not only is it a well-run depot that keeps excellent records, but also Subway is an active member of the community. Subway supports charities in the community as well as the NSAC Woodsmen’s team, the Police Association and Kids’s Sports charities. Darlyne Proctor, Waste Reduction Coordinator for Colchester County, accepted the RRFB Nova Scotia Mobius Environmental Award for ENVIRO-DEPOT™ of the Year on behalf of Subway Bottle Exchange. |
