A-1 Tires Limited is a family-owned tire retailer located in Truro. A-1 has been registered with the RRFB Nova Scotia Used Tire Management Program since the inception of the program in 1998. With over 900 tire retailers in the province it was difficult to choose a winner for this category. However, it is well known that A-1 Tires keeps excellent books and always remits on a regular and timely basis. A-1 Tires accuracy in reporting is an example for all tire retailers in the province.

Ross Atkinson of A-1 Tires accepted the RRFB Nova Scotia Mobius Award on behalf of his family’s business.

Guthro’s Garbage Collection Limited is a family-owned business that has served the Municipality of the District of Guysborough and the Town of Canso for over fourteen years. The company handles not only garbage, but also compost, recyclables and construction and demolition debris.

Guthro’s staff provide excellent service to the communities that they serve which in turn has made enforcement of disposal bans more acceptable to the community. Guthro’s is a community partner that has made the Guysborough Waste Management facility a leader in waste reduction exceeding the 50 % diversion targets.

Everett Guthro accepted the RRFB Nova Scotia Mobius Award for Hauler of the Year on behalf of his company.
