Comeau’s Bottle Exchange services the Municipality of Clare and is located in Metaghan Centre. Originally a family grocery store that exchanged bottles, the business has evolved to become a blue bag sorting station in 1994 and an ENVIRO-DEPOT™ in 1997. The business has expanded to handle cardboard that is recycled at Minas Basin Pulp and Paper.
Comeau’s Bottle Exchange is a clean and well-organized facility. There is an information area for the public, and staff that go out of their way to help their customers. Michel Comeau and his staff are committed to their community. At the popular le Festival Acadien de Clare last summer, Michel and his staff assisted Waste Check staff in greening the event, setting up recycling and composting stations for the public. Comeau’s Bottle Exchange is a model for all enviro-depots throughout the province.
Michel Comeau accepted the RRFB Nova Scotia Mobius Award for ENVIRO-DEPOT™ of the Year.
