RRFB Nova Scotia provides funding for a variety of programs to support our province’s waste diversion and reduction efforts. Whether you are a resident, business, community organization, municipality or student, RRFB Nova Scotia may be able to provide funding in your efforts to reduce or divert material away from the waste stream.
Business Development Program:
This business development program offers funding for commercial projects and research initiatives that show promising innovation in waste diversion. Projects must support the goals of Nova Scotia's Solid Waste-Resource Management Strategy by either diverting or adding value to identified problematic waste stream materials while creating potential export opportunities. Whether it's researching or implementing new ways to deal with waste or management materials that cannot go in the landfill, RRFB Nova Scotia has the following funding available for municipalities: Academic Research and Development (R&D):
RRFB Nova Scotia provides Student Research Grants for projects related to solid waste diversion in this province. Leveraging the knowledge and capacity of our universities, the program is intended to support student research projects that will provide a commercial benefit to businesses and municipalities. RRFB Nova Scotia will provide as much as $500 in financial assistance for events or initiatives within Nova Scotia that have a focus on waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting.
