Community Sponsorships
RRFB Nova Scotia is proud to offer financial assistance to non-profit organizations in support of community events, initiatives, projects and research that focus on waste reduction. All of these have the potential to move us closer to our “300 kg” waste reduction goal, so we urge as many people to get involved as possible.
Some examples of our community sponsorship include:
- Williston House for Assisted Living purchased green bins and liners for all 32 apartments as well as accessing training for all staff and residents on how to divert organic material from the garbage stream
- The Pictou County Food Banks (East and West) were able to provide blue and clear bags for program participants
- Red Cross Service Centres in Truro, Amherst and Kentville all received funding for waste separation containers as well as education sessions on how to correctly use their bins
- Digby and Yarmouth libraries received funding to increase their waste reduction related holdings
